In the last group stage match on May 14, Việt Nam beat Myanmar 2-1 to top group A to qualify for the next round.

Myanmar started the brighter and Zin Moe Pyae opened the scoring for Myanmar in the 18th minute, having struck the crossbar from a free-kick earlier.

After that, the Vietnamese side focused their attacks down the flanks, but were unable to equalise in the first half.

In the second period, Việt Nam bounced back strongly, with Trần Nhật Lan scoring a brace to secure the 2-1 victory.

In another match of Group A, the Philippines crushed Timor-Leste 12-0 to finish as runners-up of Group A and reach to the semi-finals.
